SC Johnson gives to Pantang hospital

The Pantang hospital has received products worth GH¢20,000 from SC Johnson Ghana, manufacturers of Raid insecticides and Mr Muscle disinfectants.
The items included cartons of Raid Multi Insect Killer, Raid Crawling Insect Killer, OFF! Insect Repellents, Mr Muscle Home Cleaners and Pledge Furniture Polish.
The company together with Zoomlion also undertook a clean-up exercise.
The staff led by Zoomlion cleared weeds, rubbish and choked gutters, and also swept the premises.
Others also scrubbed bathrooms and toilets of selected wards in the hospital.
Presenting the items to the hospital, the Managing Director of SC Johnson Ghana, Mrs Doris Kafui Kwawukume, explained that the clean-up exercise was the company’s contribution to support the Ghana Malaria Awareness Week.
"This exercise is part of activities marking the Raid Malaria awareness week, a sustainable development platform aimed at supporting the national drive towards malaria eradication through sensitisation on protection and prevention" she noted.
The Brands Manager of SC Johnson Ghana, Madam Hafsa- Rimantha Arthur, also noted that the initiative is the company’s own way of contributing towards the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals 4 & 5: Reducing child mortality and improving maternal health by the year 2015.
“As a family company, SC Johnson believes in contributing towards the well-being of the countries and communities where we conduct our business, and further believe in being a responsible leader in the free market economy”, she added.
The Deputy Director of Nursing Services, Pantang Hospital, Madam Margaret Patterson, who received the items lauded the company for the support and called on corporate bodies to emulate this gesture.
