story Ruth Oppong Nyarko

Episode 7 events last Wednesday launched their maiden event for gospel music lovers dubbed “Gospel Music Legends Night”.
The concept of the event is to give the legends, and those who are coming after them, the credit they rightfully deserve, as well as offering the public an opportunity to be entertained and be uplifted by their favourite gospel legends.
The event is organised to promote and raise the standard of gospel events and reward individuals who in diverse ways have contributed to gospel music in Ghana.
And also inspire current and, up and coming musicians to aspire for excellence in producing their music.
Briefing the media, Rev. Kofi Okyere, the chairman of the organisation, noted that, the event is to honour gospel musician who have enjoyed popularity over 20 years of existence and have attained a legendary status.
“This event is designed to showcase, celebrate and appreciate the greatest gospel tunes and musicians of all times” he added.
He also noted that although these individuals have worked tirelessly to pioneer the gospel industry, they have not been adequately appreciated and their efforts have not been fully recognised.
Adding that this has led to the gradual deterioration in the gospel music industry, which has now been characterised with mediocrity .
The event is scheduled for January 2, 2009 at the National Theatre. Legends that will perform on the night are Tagoe sisters, Rev. Kusi Berko, Amy Newman, Stella Seal, Bernice Offei and a host of others.
