Trader defiles girl, 10

A 42-year-old Nigerian trader, Seidu Adu, who allegedly defiled a 10-year-old girl, has been dragged before the Accra circuit court.
The accused, who pleaded not guilty to the offence, has been remanded to reappear on November 17, 2009.
According to the prosecution, the accused lives in Abbosey Okai, where the victim also lives with her grandmother.
Inspector I. A. A. Ahor who presented the case to the court, said on October 28 and 29, 2009, the victim and her brother who were on their way home after an errand was called by the accused at a certain fitting shop.
The accused, however, sent the victim's brother home and had sexual intercourse with the victim.
Again on October 29, 2009 the accused engaged the victim in the same act.
Inspector Ahor said the accused on November 1, 2009 sent the victim's brother to call her sister for him. However, on reaching the house, the boy met their grandmother and uncle who questioned him on what the accused want from the victim.
The victim's brother upon further interrogation, revealed the incident to them.
They later lodged a complain with the Korle-Bu police who arrested the accused and issued a medical form to the victim for examination.
